Cary, NC

Sadly we left VA and onward to NC!

Just about everyone who knows us, knows that Cary, NC is one of the areas we are looking to move after Sean is done with dental school. So we had to add that to our road trip and see what it was all about. Tell you what...we are QUITE impressed. It is gorgeous!! So many trees and flowers. I have NEVER seen a city look this quaint! You would not believe you are in a city the size of Amherst. Actually, you wouldn't believe you were in a city at all! I have a picture of downtown. Now to be honest I stole this one online. By the time we got back around to it, it was too dark to get one of my own. The only difference is that the leaves have not changed their color yet.

These next pictures are at the hotel. We got there and needed to cool off in the pool.

They boys picked the place to eat. We drove by a restaurant called Mimi's Cafe. This is what they call Sean's mom, so they thought it was a must. And we highly recommend this place to everyone. Great food and low prices!!

This is at the Cary town hall. I could have spent all evening here taking pictures if the boys had allowed. It is just beautiful. They have a little town museum that we went and visited quickly. The staff was so nice and helpful and listed off many of the things there were to do. I can guarantee that we would never get bored if we moved here.

We left Cary this morning and headed into Raleigh to Pullen Park. It's an amusement park/playground. We were literally only minutes from downtown Raleigh. We got to see a few buildings from the road. We didn't even feel like we were so close to it. It felt like we were in the country!

They had a few kiddie rides, pedal boats and playgrounds. We did a picnic lunch and then onto the rides.

These are the geese that were trying to scare us out of the pond while we were on the pedal boats. They just honked and chased us. I guess they felt we were invading!

The boys ended the afternoon there at the playground area before we headed out of town to the western side of NC.

I will say, we have only had a few moments today where we could tell the boys were getting tired. But nothing serious. They have been very good for kids that have probably spent most of their vacation in the car. (Not really!) But we got to the hotel tonight in Morganton, NC and are just going to take it easy.
